I helped a sneaker enthusiasts create a competitor to Reddit, eBay, ISS, craigslist, etc.
Solesout is a marketplace where the users decide what they see. Shoes are reposted and people get to vote them up or down.

Similar to Reddit, we encourage user participation in getting shoes their proper exposure.
After selling on eBay, the sellers would often hear buyers claiming “I don’t have the money to buy these” and this asks the question “what did they think would happen?”.

This way, theres no way to complete a purchase without paying. Paying is the ‘BuyNow’.
Another thing we noticed was that fees on other sites are outrageous, and when the billing is done on a monthly basis, users are aren’t sure how much they are pocketing, or in most cases how little.
